PianoMadeEasy is a free piano-learning site run by Samarth Dhamani. This page explains what information the site collects and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, your email address, and your password in scrambled (hashed) form, so nobody can read it.
- Your progress: which tutorials you mark as completed and which curriculum exercises you finish, with the dates.
- NGO and school inquiries: whatever you enter in the form on the For NGOs page, including your organization, name, email, phone number and message.
How we use it
- To run your account, save your progress and create your certificates.
- To email you a password reset link when you ask for one.
- To reply to inquiries from organizations.
- For students taking part through an NGO or school, to share a progress summary with that organization.
We don't sell your information or show ads.
Where it is kept
Account, progress and inquiry details are stored in a private Google Sheet that only the site owner can open. Your browser also keeps your login and a copy of your practice progress on your own device, so the site works smoothly.
Services we use
These companies handle some data when you use the site:
- Google Analytics shows us how many people visit and which pages they use.
- Google Fonts and Google Translate provide the site's fonts and translation button.
- YouTube plays tutorial videos, using its privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube's own rules apply once you press play.
- GoDaddy hosts the site and adds its own basic visitor statistics.
Children
Many of our students are young. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to help you create your account. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time to see or delete a child's information.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information at any time. Email pianomadeeasy.co@gmail.com and we'll sort it out.
